Life Long Learners WOOHOO!

Do you love education? No we don’t mean the boring kind in school like math or social studies, we mean learning a new technique for your favorite art form, learning a new perspective or maybe even a different method of communication. Maybe you were a rockstar and loved school, that’s cool too. Either way, there are so many opportunities around us to learn and grow every single day! When was the last time you learned something new?

How did it make you feel? How did it shift your perspective? At Platinum & Company in Manhattan, KS, we are always down to learn something new! Even if it means stepping outside of our comfort zone!

Education is a key pillar in our company culture. We know the importance of education in and outside of our industry and we love sharing education with others too. Our in house associate program gives our service providers the opportunity to learn at a quick hands on pace with our top level stylists. This 4-6 month program allows each person to grow at their own pace with the support they need, but the learning doesn’t stop there! Every 5 weeks we have in salon education classes for our team taught by our very own people!! We love keeping up with the trends, but we also know that it is important to cover the basics. These classes cover any and everything such as blonding, makeup, hair cutting, finance, and so much more! We also have some incredible artists fly in from all over the World to teach amazing classes too!

Meg Coleman, our director of education vocalizes our mission of education perfectly, “Education is important to us because we are in an ever evolving industry where the trends are constantly changing so having a fundamental background helps us give clients the hair of their dreams.”

Meg plays a crucial role in our education planning by coordinating with multiple product brands to receive product knowledge, finding out what our team’s needs are and giving them the knowledge and skill set to facilitate classes in the salon. Her favorite part of being involved in our education program is finding out what others are passionate about and helping them turn that into a class that they can facilitate.
